The Chainsmokers Reveal Their Process

The Chainsmokers came into the music industry with their hit song #selfie in 2014. Since then they have continued to rise through the ranks of the music industry. Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart created this production and DJ duo in 2012. At the AMAs in 2016 they won Collaboration of the Year and in 2017 they won Favourite Electronic/Dance Music Artist. They have also won awards ranging from Most Performed Song to Top Hot 100 Song over the few years they have been around.

Recently they brought us into their studio to show us what really goes into the process of making a hit song with their latest song “Somebody”. This song is a mix of modular synth work and vocals moved up a pitch.

Their process includes messing around on a keyboard as well as a normal piano. A lot of their music is created through a laptop as well. They use a program to mess with pitches of vocals and mix all of their keyboard and piano work together with their vocals.

Since posting this short one minute clip of their studio work, they have promised to show us a more in depth tutorial of how they created the song “Somebody”. Even just the little taste they have given us, makes for an interesting show though. It’s not every day you see a song produced by only two people a keyboard and a laptop. But then again, Taggart has described their music as “blurring the lines between indie, pop music, dance music, and hip hop” so you really don’t know what to expect when it comes to their studio.

They clearly know what the anatomy of a hit song is though. They have been nominated for over 54 awards and won 27. Their songs hit the top 100 charts in many different countries including the US, Canada, and the UK over and over again. You can’t go anywhere without hearing The Chainsmoker song on the Radio, and once you hear it, it’s almost impossible to get it out of your head with how catchy their beats are.

Drew Madden and Other Healthcare IT Experts will Shape the American Healthcare Trends in 2018

American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), an organization advancing health information professional practice and standards, published a report outlining health data management trends likely to shape the healthcare industry in 2018. Some of the patterns include informatics, data analytics, clinical documentation, and privacy and security.

AHIMA is betting on data analysts, IT experts, and other professionals to drive change in the sector. While there are many IT experts in the American healthcare industry, some such as Drew Madden, a managing partner at Evergreen Healthcare Partners, have carved a niche in electronic medical records. Madden and other like-minded entrepreneurs are the determinants of whether AHIMA’s predictions will come true or otherwise.

The use of electronic health records (EHRs) is gaining traction in America. While EHRs have revolutionized the healthcare industry, AHIMA believes there is still a room to improve the innovation. For instance, processes that capture data in EHR are cumbersome, and AHIMA is hoping that they will be streamlined. AHIMA is optimistic that simplifying such processes will mitigate physician burnout.

There is no doubt technology is the best innovation that ever happened to the healthcare sector. However, the healthcare industry, just like other sectors of the economy that are now overly reliant on technology, is grappling with privacy and security issues. Nevertheless, AHIMA stresses that cybersecurity challenges are likely to be sorted out in 2018 if all the provisions of the 21st Century Cures Act and HITECH Act are implemented successfully. Some of the provisions of the acts include “minimum necessary” requirements, data sharing, mental health information, etc.
