The Chainsmokers Reveal Their Process

The Chainsmokers came into the music industry with their hit song #selfie in 2014. Since then they have continued to rise through the ranks of the music industry. Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart created this production and DJ duo in 2012. At the AMAs in 2016 they won Collaboration of the Year and in 2017 they won Favourite Electronic/Dance Music Artist. They have also won awards ranging from Most Performed Song to Top Hot 100 Song over the few years they have been around.

Recently they brought us into their studio to show us what really goes into the process of making a hit song with their latest song “Somebody”. This song is a mix of modular synth work and vocals moved up a pitch.

Their process includes messing around on a keyboard as well as a normal piano. A lot of their music is created through a laptop as well. They use a program to mess with pitches of vocals and mix all of their keyboard and piano work together with their vocals.

Since posting this short one minute clip of their studio work, they have promised to show us a more in depth tutorial of how they created the song “Somebody”. Even just the little taste they have given us, makes for an interesting show though. It’s not every day you see a song produced by only two people a keyboard and a laptop. But then again, Taggart has described their music as “blurring the lines between indie, pop music, dance music, and hip hop” so you really don’t know what to expect when it comes to their studio.

They clearly know what the anatomy of a hit song is though. They have been nominated for over 54 awards and won 27. Their songs hit the top 100 charts in many different countries including the US, Canada, and the UK over and over again. You can’t go anywhere without hearing The Chainsmoker song on the Radio, and once you hear it, it’s almost impossible to get it out of your head with how catchy their beats are.

Kim Dao’s Evening Routine in Japan

Kim Dao’s evening routine starts when she gets home. She sits down and relaxes, often playing on her phone. She will then spend a few hours replying to emails and comments or editing her videos (https://ideamensch.com/kim-dao/). Kim is normally hungery when she gets home so she snacks for a little bit while watching Youtube videos or anime. She then removes her makeup sand takes a shower, which she prefers to do at night so she can go to bed clean. Because Kim’s hair is damaged from all the bleaching she does she uses treatments while showering to help keep her hair healthy. After showering Kim blow dries her hair and uses more treatment to further help her hair. Once she is clean she eats dinner(http://www.kimdaoblog.com/search/label/makeup). Normally it is cheaper to eat out in Japan if you are living alone and since Kim is currently staying in an Airbnb bought food from a 7-11 which she can easily microwave. While eating she continues to watch videos online. This is Kim’s favorite time of the day where she can relax and eat at the same time(http://kimdao.net/about-me/). After eating dinner she continues with her video editing and snacking. When it is bedtime Kim brushes her teeth and does her night time skin care routine. She then puts on socks to help the blood circulation in her legs after walking all day. Kim then spends another hour playing on her phone. Occasionally Kim uses eye masks on nights where she knows she will have trouble falling asleep.Learn more : http://myinterviews.com.au/kim-dao/
